NBS BANK NORTHERN REGION BONANZA STARTED ON A HIGH- NOTE

This year's northern region bonanza has started on a high note as Mzuzu city hammer registered their first win in the competition.


Mzuzu city hammers started the competition with a game against Chitipa united which ended 3 - 0 in favour of hammers as they were on a neutral venue at Rumphi stadium.

The first hammers goal was scored by Allan Kaunda on 23 minutes and later on in the first half they added to the tally in 43 minutes by James Gwayi and in the second Chitipa united tried pressing hard but their effort yielded no results as they failed to find back if the net, and on 79 minutes Hammers sealed the lead and game ended 3 - 0 in favour of Mzuzu city hammers.

The remarks of Hammers coach Nkwinika said " this are pre - season matches that we are trying to assess the players so, we are not dwelling much on results but possible combinations in the team".

And Chitipa united coach expressed his disappointment as his charges failed to deliver performance based on instructions Gaven to the them.

NBS bank northern region bonanza is a pre - season competition that help teams from northern region in preparing for TNM super league, and this year's Bonanza some of the team's partipating are Chitipa united, Mzuzu city hammers, Singer border united, Moyale Barracks and Karonga United.
