FLAMES REGISTER FIRST LOSS UNDER PASUWA
Malawi national football team The Flames has registered 1 - 0 defeat against Namibia under the guidance of Zimbabwean tactician Callisto Pasuwa in their group H of World Cup qualifiers.
The match was played at Bingu National Stadium, and coach Pasuwa gave chance to most of the foreign based players to showcase their experience and capabilities as it was a tough test for them. In the first half, Malawi was the first to team to settle in the first 15 - 20 minutes, and before the break the Brave Warriors scored through Tijiueza after he received a clever pass from Masandawana striker Peter Shalulile and it ended Malawi trailing by a goal to nil.
Coming in the second half , Malawi tried pressing but creativity in creating chances was lacking that resulted in failing to register shot on target, Coach Pasuwa made number of substitutions bringing in the likes of Chawanangwa Kaonga, Gaddie Chirwa and Lanjesi Nkhoma but it yielded no results.
After 90 plus minutes the game ended 1 -0 in favour of Namibia.
Flames will shift their focus to an away fixture against Tunisia.
